A cargo train derailed near the town of Ludlow in California on Wednesday (March 3), causing dozens of rail cars to crash into the surrounding desert, reports Yahoo News.
Freight train derailed
The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF Railway) told that at around 12:20 pm local time, 44 train cars carrying mixed freight derailed.
The video uploaded by San Bernardino County Fire shows several train carriages turned on their side, as emergency workers in hazmat suits assess the scene.

Investigation underway
- BNSF Railway also said one car carrying ethanol was leaking.
- No injuries were reported and the cause of the derailment was under investigation.
