KIPIC Receives First LNG Cargo At Its New LNG Terminal

Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) has received its first LNG shipment at its new LNG import terminal in Al-Zour, says an article published in Offshore Energy.

Terminal’s capacity

Al-Zour LNG terminal is expected to be operational soon. It will have a capacity of 22 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).

The terminal is owned by Kuwait Petroleum (KPC) and developed by its unit KIPIC.

About the first cargo arrival

KIPIC reported via its social media channels that the first LNG cargo arrived on Monday, 12 July.

The 213,000 cubic meters shipment was delivered by Nakilat’s LNG tanker Al Kharsaah.

A South Korean consortium consisting of Hyundai E&C, Hyundai Engineering and Kogas was in charge of building the LNG plant.
