Brazil’s Porto Chibatao Face Delays

Porto Chibatao faces delays as two harbour cranes and two floating pontoons sunk following a massive crash.

During the early hours of Sunday, two floating pontoons and two Liebherr LHM 600 harbor cranes collapsed and sank into the Rio Negro.

This major accident took place when the operators were unloading from a cement carrier.

The cause of the crash is unknown, and the assessment of injury details are underway.  The port is still in use, and there are delays in port traffic.

Such issues have serious implications on both port operations and the safety of port workers.  It is required that the management must ensure a safe and productive work environment for the employees.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
