529 Kilos of Cocaine Hidden in Cargo

  • Bulk carrier TRUDY hit headlines twice recently.
  • First when French police seized the ship in English Channel on Oct 1, took her to Dunkirk and found some 1.1 ton of cocaine in cargo hold.
  • Second when on Oct 10 the ship was literally, hijacked during the night Oct 10-11 by a group of commandos-type perpetrators right at Dunkirk port.

A recent news article published in the Marine Bulletin states that Bulk carrier TRUDY second cocaine bust, this time in Rotterdam.

What happened?

Now it seems, their intention transpired – bulk carrier arrived at Rotterdam via Antwerp, early in the morning Oct 26.

Worker found suspicious packages and alerted police, which found 529 kilos of cocaine, hidden in a cargo hold, in packages of different size and weight.

So in all probability, commandos or whoever seized the ship in Dunkirk, brought in a new cocaine lot, destined for Rotterdam.

Ship was not detained

This time though, the ship wasn’t detained, she left Rotterdam in unusually short time, for a bulk carrier, – on the same day, in the evening, bound for Canakkale Turkey.

No news on any crew involvement/detention, hopefully there were none. The whole story is kind of, mind blowing. Is it EU or third world shithole? What’s going on?
