Global container line schedule reliability dropped to a new low in January this year according to analysts Sea-Intelligence, says an article published in Seatrade Maritime News.
Delays getting worse
Any hope that this year would see an improvement in supply issues would appear to have been quickly dashed with container line delays getting worse, not better.
Container line schedule reliability dropped by 0.9 percentage points month-on-month in January to 30.9%, the lowest level reported by Sea-Intelligence since it started monitoring schedule reliability in 2011.
Best performers
None of the top 14 carriers managed to achieve even 50% schedule reliability across their global network. The best performers were Maersk with 46.9% and subsidiary Hamburg Sud managing 42.8%. Next best performers were HMM and MSC averaging between 30% – 40% schedule reliability.
The remaining eight carriers reported schedule reliability of less than 30% with Evergreen the lowest at 15% in January.
