Korean Register (KR) has launched ‘SeaTrust-Frame3D,’ a software tool for evaluating ship grillage structures, says a press release published on their website.

About SeaTrust-Frame3D

SeaTrust-Frame3D makes it easy to construct a complex ship structure by representing it as a grillage structure, says a press release published on their website.

Analysis

The designer can use the software to conduct and analyse structural strength and rule-based buckling strength analyses, with the findings displayed in 3D pictures, tables, and graphs.

Reports based on analysis

It can generate reports automatically based on the analysis results and supports CAD  interfaces.

Quicker than existing method

SeaTrust-Frame3D can assess the structural strength of a ship much more quickly than the existing Finite Element Method (FEM) structural analysis, which will be welcomed by those who need to assess the structural strength of a ship swiftly.

To be used at shipyards

The software, which applies to various structural member strength tests throughout the ship construction process, is expected to be widely used at shipyards, according to KR.

KIM Dae-heon, Executive Vice-President of KR’s R&D Division, said, “With the launch of SeaTrust-Frame3D, we can provide customer-oriented technical services directly to those working in the field.”

“Looking ahead, KR will continuously upgrade the program to meet customers’ needs and enhance its usability and we are working to make it a much better solution to apply the classification rules even more efficiently than is possible today.”

Free Trial available

A one-month free trial version of SeaTrust-Frame3D can be downloaded directly from the SeaTrust website (https://www.seatrust.kr).
