A tanker ship will be visiting London and passing through Tower Bridge in a few weeks, says an article published in IAnVisits.
Minimal impact
M/T FureVinga, a chemical tanker owned by Swedish shipowner Furetank, is the seventh in a series of ten vessels being developed with a specific focus on minimal environmental impact.
The vessels contain a hybrid battery system and various novel features that reduce fuel and energy usage, resulting in much lower CO2, sulphur oxide, nitrogen oxide, and hazardous particle emissions.
Demonstrate environment
The M/T FureVinga will arrive in London on Monday, June 6th at 7:30pm, passing through Tower Bridge and mooring alongside HMS Belfast.
The tanker will depart London at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8th.
The ship is in London for a reception thrown by the Swedish Embassy for attendees of MEPC 78 in order to demonstrate its environmental credentials.
Opportunity for Londoners
There will be no public tours, so this is more of an opportunity for Londoners to observe an uncommon visitor to central London travel via Tower Bridge.
