Minimalistic Dreams Fulfilled In Shipping Containers

At a property in the Phoenix Hill neighbourhood, new shipping container residences are available for rent as reported by WLKY.

Living in a container

Would you, on the other hand, live in a shipping container? Consider a kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel equipment, and a view of downtown Louisville.

“Each unit is made up of two 8-foot-wide, 40-foot-long shipping containers. To make a one-bedroom, one-bathroom living space, we cut out the middles of the containers and sandwiched them together”, Loren Prizant, the property’s owner, stated.

It’s known as the Re-Nu Container Homes. Four of the units are residential, and two of them can be rented out on Airbnb.

Minimalist dream

Each house has a full kitchen, one full bathroom, and a washer and dryer. A balcony is also available in the higher flats.

The new apartments are located near the intersection of Wenzel and East Jefferson.

These 600 square foot dwellings, according to the developers, are a minimalist’s dream.

“It’s a fantastic spot to visit if you’re looking for a smaller property. In this busy city with many stores, breweries, and restaurants, you can walk anywhere. Everything you’ll need to get by is right here”, Prizant remarked.

Bonus added

Not to mention that they are eco-friendly.

The property is located on Phoenix Hill, near Nu-Lu and Butchertown, three bustling and ever-changing neighbourhoods with plenty to do. Residents in the region are enthusiastic about the new construction.

“Being so close to NuLu and witnessing all the new eateries, business prospects, progression, and how busy it is, it shows indicators of a lot of growth,” said neighbour Chad Kunkel. “It’s simply a good sign of what’s to come for Louisville, not just the city, but this local neighbourhood as well.”
