On June 6, a fire broke out in the cargo hold of the container ship SL TWEETY as it sailed from Mersin, Turkey, to Kumport, Turkey, in the Marmara Sea as reported by Maritime Bulletin.
Fire onboard
SL TWEETY had to pause the cruise and anchor at Mersin anchorage, requesting assistance, after the fire was apparently quenched or brought under control by the crew. The ship was still anchored on June 7th, but there were no tugs or emergency boats nearby, so the fire was presumed to be out. Most likely, a fire broke out in one or more containers, causing damage to some of the containers and goods. On May 5, SL TWEETY landed in Mersin from China.
