- Older kids will especially enjoy the bumper cars and high-tech gaming.
- It’s hard to do the math because MSC Yacht Club accommodations are far more inclusive than other accommodations on the ship.
- The new MSC Seashore is currently sailing from Miami with the largest, most glamorous Yacht Club we’ve built to date, and MSC World Europa is poised to take it one step further.
MSC Cruises’ newest ship, MSC World Europa, is planned to debut in December 2022 as reported by Forbes.
Luxury enclave
The ultramodern, 6762-passenger ship will debut with so many new activities and amenities that the cruise operator has termed it an “urban metropolis at sea” when it debuts.
Guests who want a more calm and personal cruise experience will find a fine-tuned version of the cruise line’s famous “ship-within-a-ship” luxury enclave on board the mega-ship. (MSC was one of the first cruise lines to debut this improved service more than a decade ago, as a result of the popularity of boutique hotels within hotels.)
All the bells and whistles
The MSC World Europa is large enough to offer something for everyone, with 22 decks and 430,000 square feet of public space.
Its outdoor Promenade, which stretches for 341 feet and has seven decks with a range of entertainment venues and al fresco eating options, covers seven decks. An 11-deck high spiral stainless steel “dry slide” on the ship’s exterior is one of the Promenade’s major attractions that will appeal to thrill-seekers.
MSC is famed for its European background and elegance, but with 33 restaurants, cafés, bars, and lounges on board, visitors can sample cuisine from around the world.
The ship is suitable for children of all ages, including toddlers, teenagers, and those in between. Movies, game shows, kids’ activities, and themed events for all ages will be held at the Luna Park Arena. The children’s area, which spans 8,200 square feet, is being constructed in partnership with LEGO® and Chicco®. The bumper cars and high-tech gaming will appeal to older children in particular.
Adults will have something to do from dawn to night with huge production shows scheduled each night of the voyage, as well as a variety of other nighttime entertainment venues, several swimming pools and whirlpools, and a full-service spa with fitness and health facilities. All of this, plus the excitement of exploring new ports ashore.
MSC has also promised to make the World Europa the most environmentally friendly ship it has ever built, with green technology integrated throughout.
The Yacht Club: The best of both worlds
The Yacht Club, which is exclusively accessible with a “members-only” keycard, is the ideal size for visitors who want a boutique, small-ship experience without having to forego all of the privileges and luxuries of a large ship cruise.
The Yacht Club aboard MSC World Europa refines the line’s previous experience on other MSC ships by providing the atmosphere and amenities of a 5-star hotel where passengers can be equally pampered at sea.
The Yacht Club’s 152 suites include two Owner’s Suites with huge outdoor living areas and balconies, making it one of the most lavish staterooms on the ship.
Guests can wake up to coffee from an ensuite Nespresso bar (or room service if preferred) and relax and sleep well on Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy pillows from the pillow menu.
Service at The Yacht Club is personalised, with 24-hour European-style butlers and a dedicated concierge available to help make reservations aboard the ship and tailored excursions ashore, adapting them to each guest’s needs and interests.
Private membership
Guests in the Yacht Club will also have access to a private members-only lounge with complimentary drinks and gourmet small plates available throughout the day; a private fine-dining restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; complimentary access to the MSC Aurea Spa’s thermal suite and exclusive massage rooms; and a private pool area at the ship’s bow with hot tubs, shady cabanas, and a bi-level sundeck with sweeping views of the sea.
In short, subscribing to the Yacht Club translates to an all-inclusive, hassle-free trip without long lines or waits—to a cruise with more personal care, better crew-to-passenger ratios, and a slew of other perks and advantages (including free Internet and complimentary alcoholic drinks and cocktails).
“With the introduction of MSC Fantasia in 2008, MSC Cruises pioneered the ship-within-a-ship idea,” explains Rubén A. Rodrguez, President, MSC Cruises USA. “We’ve worked hard to enhance the MSC Yacht Club concept even further after fourteen years and eleven ships.”
“The new MSC Seashore is sailing from Miami with the largest, most opulent Yacht Club we’ve ever created, and MSC World Europa is prepared to go much further.”
MSC World Europa will provide 7-night excursions from Dubai to Abu Dhabi when it debuts later this year, as well as Mediterranean cruises commencing in summer 2023.
Is the cost of a luxury cruise on a large boat justified? It’s difficult to calculate because MSC Yacht Club accommodations are significantly more inclusive than other shipboard accommodations. Furthermore, prices vary greatly according to the sail date, itinerary, and cabin class.
However, an intimate enclave like this can appeal to couples or others looking for an adult-only getaway, as well as grandparents (and other multigenerational groups) who want to share experiences with their adult children and grandchildren while also having the option of spending time apart in a more tranquil setting.
