Kawasaki Heavy Industries, one of the leading shipbuilders, held a meeting, the outcome of which there was an announcement where Yoshinori Kanehana will take over from Shigeru Maruyama as President of Kawasaki Heavy Industries from June 2016.
The board has decided that President Shigeru Murayama will become the Chairman and Senior Vice President Yoshinori Kanehana will become the new President.
The board has also passed few changes for immediate effect from 1st April, 2016.
Munenori Ishikawa, the Senior Vice President at present will become the Senior Executive Vice President.
Yoshinori Kanehana, currently being the Senior Vice President hence will be the Senior Executive Vice President.
Eiji Inoue, current Senior Vice President will be the Director.
It is said that these changes are done to strengthen the management structure by bringing in fresh blood.
Three years ago Kawasaki failed in a bid to merge with Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES).
