George III is the first LNG-powered vessel to fuel on the US west coast
Built by Keppel AMFELS shipyard, Brownsville, Texas, George III is the first LNG-powered vessel to fuel on the US west coast and the first to serve Hawaii. Keppel AMFELS is building Janet Marie, the second of two new Ohana-class container ships for delivery in August 2022.
The Ohana-class vessels are named in honour of George Pasha, III and Janet Marie, the late parents of The Pasha Group president and chief executive George Pasha, IV.

George III is the first IGF-compliant vessel certified by the US Coast Guard.
Designed by Keppel Marine & Deepwater Technology, Keppel O&M’s ship design and development arm, US-flagged George III and Janet Marie will run completely on LNG fuel, substantially reducing their environmental impact, surpassing IMO 2030 emissions standards.
With increased fuel efficiency, energy savings will also be achieved with a Tier III-compliant MAN B&W 7S80ME-GI Mk 9.5 main engine fitted with an MAN Energy Solution’s proprietary exhaust gas recirculation system, an optimised hull form, and an underwater propulsion system with a high-efficiency rudder and propeller. Each ship is equipped with three MAN 6L35/44DF gensets.
