Uniper’s Liqvis has added another LNG fueling station to its growing network in Germany in order to cater to the increasing demand for the fuel in road transport, says an article published in LNG Prime

New Station In Germany

The new LNG filling station is located near the eastern German city of Leipzig, according to a Liqvis statement on Monday.

Liqvis says this station with two dispensers complements the firm’s growing LNG network in Germany but also in France.

It was built in cooperation with Dutch cryogenic tech firm Cryonorm.

Operational Stations

According to its website, Liqvis now has ten operational LNG filling stations in Germany and two in France.

Prior to this facility, it launched a station in the southern German city of Ulm.

Slashing Emissions

The market for LNG as a truck fuel is growing rapidly in Germany as owners look to slash emissions but also a road tax exemption for such vehicles.

Earlier this year, Liqvis and Cryonor signed a deal to build up to 16 new LNG filling stations.

16 LNG Stations

The new contract “Mercury II” builds on the previous “Mercury I” EPC contract signed in 2018. This deal covered 16 LNG stations.

Total Stations

According to NGVA Europe data, Germany has 134 LNG filing stations while Italy has 125 such stations.

Europe in total hosts 575 LNG stations for trucks.
