TotalEnergies Marine Fuels has declared it has successfully refuelled a CMA CGM containership in Singapore with sustainable marine biofuel.
The Biofuel used comprises relatively low sulfur fuel combined with 24% second-generation, waste-based used cooking oil methyl ester.

According to TotalEnergies, biofuels deliver sustainable solutions to decarbonise shipping as they can be blended into prevailing traditional fuels with little technological improvements employed on vessels.
The operation follows successful biofuel bunkering examinations. TotalEnergies Marine Fuels conducted its trial in Singapore with a COSCO container ship which is a vehicle carrier operated by Mitsui OSK Lines and a bulk carrier chartered by NYK Line.
