- China’s Wuhu has completed the fourth and the last LNG-powered cargo vessel for shipping firm Wijnne Barends.
- Finland’s Wartsila provided LNG propulsion and also storage systems for the four ships as part of a deal signed in December 2020.

According to Wijnne Barends, on 22 September, Lady Monique departed Wuhu Shipyard to bunker LNG in a new LNG bunkering facility named “Wuhu LNG.”
It is the first LNG-powered ship built by Wuhu that could conduct LNG bunkering in Wuhu. It underwent sea trials in the South China Sea.
The delivery of Marie Christine took place in January this year.
Wuhu had delivered the third vessel, Lady Menna, which was located in the Mediterranean Sea.

Wijnne Barends and Finland’s UPM have lately named the second out of four LNG-powered short-sea cargo vessels, Lady Mathilde, in the port of Amsterdam.
UPM said that employing LNG would encourage the company to reduce emissions. The firm strives to curtail the greenhouse gas emissions of its supply chain by 30 percent by 2030.
As part of a deal signed in December 2020, Wartsila gave LNG propulsion and storage systems for the four ships The vessels have a Wartsila 34DF dual-fuel main engine and a Wartsila LNGPac system.
