This morning, Hamina LNG informed Bunkerspot that it’s Finnish terminal has begun commercial operations and is prepared to offer LNG bunkering services.
Gas transmission system
The Hamina facility is Finland’s first LNG import terminal linked to the country’s gas transmission system. The plant offers regasification and injection services with a daily capacity of 4 800 MWh into the Finnish gas transmission network and has a storage capacity of up to 30,000 cubic metres (cbm).
Additional services
Ex-pipe LNG bunkering is one of the additional services offered at the terminal, according to the company’s CEO Tuula Liukko, who spoke with Bunkerspot. This will be made available to both additional LNG-fueled tankers and the LNG carriers working cargo at the terminal, according to Liukko. Since the terminal began operating earlier this month, no LNG bunker supplies have taken place; however, Liukko anticipated that they would soon.
