2M Alliance Announces Service Changes On Transpacific Network

  • TP23/Liberty service to go through temporal suspension announced by the 2M Alliance.
  • The two members of the alliance said that the move aims to adjust container capacity.
  • The first boxship to call Charleston on TP17/America service will be Axel Maersk 

The largest container shipping alliance, 2M Alliance, has announced the temporary suspension of its TP23/Liberty service and the addition of the port of Charleston call to TP17/ America service, reported Container News.

Transpacific network

The two members of the alliance, Maersk and MSC said this is a move that aims to adjust container capacity “in line with the slowing demand on the Transpacific US East Coast network”.

The last vessel to sail on TP23/Liberty service will be Ian H with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) in Tanjung Pelepas on 23 November.

Additionally, the first boxship to call Charleston on TP17/America service will be Axel Maersk with an ETA in Hong Kong on 27 November.

Port rotation update

The updated port rotation of the TP17/America service will be as follows:

Hong Kong – Nansha (China) – Yantian (China) – Vung Tau (Vietnam) – Singapore – New York (US) – Charleston (US) – Savannah (US) – Miami (US) – Freeport (Bahamas) – Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia) – Hong Kong.
