French Navy Seized A Ship With Weapons
A ship full of weapons, reportedly headed for Somalia, was intercepted and seized by French naval forces patrolling the northern Indian Ocean.
It was reported that the French helicopter that spotted the unregistered ship is part of the multinational Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) that patrols the Indian Ocean.
The weapons that got seized under a UN embargo to prevent arms from getting to wrong hands include hundreds of assault rifles, machine guns and antitank weapons etc.
In a similar incident in the recent past, the Australian navy intercepted a fishing boat with a cache of arms off Oman, also believed to be on its way to Somalia.
