The 57-meter Setteesettanta’s hull design has passed rigorous tests with flying colours, according to Dutch shipbuilder Heesen, as reported by Superyacht Times.

Finest comfort

The Setteesettanta’s hull design underwent two days of model testing in the new tank at the Wolfson Unit in Southampton in addition to a series of CFD calculations.

Perry van Oossanen of renowned Dutch architects Van Oossanen Naval Architects said, “The Quick Displacement hull of this 57-metre yacht was tested in many various sea states, including those reflecting very difficult conditions. In spite of the reversed-bow form, “we gave considerable emphasis in the design to attaining minimal accelerations, in both pitch and roll – which are the measure of comfort onboard”

Best experience

Also, Perry van Oossanen attested to the full-custom yacht’s success in testing conducted on calm waters.

Project Setteesettanta was created for loyal Heesen customers who asked for a boat that was adapted to their way of life. Van Oossanen Naval Architects handled the naval architecture, and Omega Architects handled the exterior design. Setteesettanta features an interior design created by Cristiano Gatto Design and contains the finest touches to please every family member and provide the best experience imaginable.

Speed and efficiency

The materials used for Project Setteesettanta have been chosen with great care and attention to detail. Lightweight, all-aluminium boats that are engineered and constructed to the tightest tolerances are Heesen’s speciality. Hence, careful weight management guarantees exceptional performance in terms of speed and efficiency.

Heesen Senior Naval Architect Sjoerd van Herk commented, “Project Setteesettanta sports a fourth deck, a vast pool, and a low stern, which allowed us to flex our mental muscles to ensure the vessel’s stability. The engineering phase will start next month when we complete the preliminary design. We eagerly anticipate the keel laying in September.”

Project Setteesettanta is outfitted with two small MTU 16V2000M72 (1,440 kW) diesel engines, a conventional propulsion system, and a focus on comfort in all sea conditions. With a range of 3,900 nautical miles at 12 knots, she has a top speed of 18 knots.
