Sister site Splash Extra reported last month how the maritime subsidiary of New York-based Libra Group purchased a trio of Chinese-built panamaxes, Sweet Venus, Sweet Melissa and Sweet Irina, for a sum close to $50m.

Last month, Lomar also revealed a trio of supramax bulker buys, its first since early 2022, estimated at nearly $43m. These recent deals bring the company’s dry bulk vessel portfolio to 12 ships.

The transactions coincided with the company’s disposal of five feeder boxships, acquired by German tonnage provider MPC Container Ships. The vessels were sold en bloc at a price close to $137m and will be delivered over the next two months.
