GoodFuels Supplies Biofuel To NYK Ro-Ro Vessel

  • Dutch biofuels supplier GoodFuels supplied biofuel for bunkering at the port of Vlissingen, the Netherlands, to a ro-ro vessel owned by NYK.
  • The roll-on/roll-off vessel for wheeled vehicles, is time-chartered by United European Car Carriers (UECC).
  • In Rotterdam, VLSFO was pegged at 24pc discount, or $165/t below B30, a blend of VLSFO and advanced Fatty acid methyl esters, from 1-28 June.

Emerald Leader took 470 metric tonnes (t) of B30, a blend of biodiesel and very low-sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) at the end of May, GoodFuels said today. The B30 reduces CO2 emissions by 90pc compared to conventional marine fuels, the supplier noted. 

Biofuel supplied to NYK ro-ro

The roll-on/roll-off vessel for wheeled vehicles, is time-chartered by United European Car Carriers (UECC). It operates between eastern Mediterranean and northern Europe.

In August 2022, GoodFuels supplied with biofuel NYK’s bulk carrier in Singapore. It delivered biofuels to NYK’s bulk carrier Frontier Sky in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in February 2019.

VLSFO discount

In Rotterdam, VLSFO was pegged at 24pc discount, or $165/t below B30, a blend of VLSFO and advanced Fatty acid methyl esters, from 1-28 June, Argus data showed. 

VLSFO was also pegged at 34pc discount, or $274/t below B30, a blend of VLSFO and Used cooking oil methyl ester (Ucome), during the same period.
