Maran Takes Delivery Of Fourth LNG Dual-Fuel VLCC

Maran Tankers Management on Thursday (27 July) welcomed its fourth LNG dual fuel VLCC, Maran Dione, to its fleet, reports ship and bunker.

“This is the last delivery of these state-of-the-art dual fuel VLCCs for 2023, marking a milestone for our Group in the Energy Transition,” it said in a social media post.

Cargo capacity

The Lloyd’s Register (LR) – class vessel has a cargo capacity of 320,500 DWT.

“It was delivered by Samsung Heavy Industries and flies the Greek flag. Thanks to its capability to consume LNG, efficient machinery, hull and propeller design, advanced anti-fouling technology and energy-saving devices, Maran Dione, like its sister ships, Antonis I. Angelicoussis, Maria A. Angelicoussis and Maran Danae, can emit up to 50% less carbon dioxide than an equivalent 2008-built VLCC,” the firm added.
