Proman Explores Biofuel Production with Origin Materials

Origin Materials will use chemo-catalytic technology to convert wood residues and agricultural waste into biofuels. Chemo-catalysis is a process in which biomass is converted into fuel using an organic catalyst. The company will also capture carbon released from the process, reports ENGINE.

Global distribution of biofuels will be handled by Proman.

Biofuel is a rapidly growing market. Low-carbon-intensity biofuels made from wood waste reflect the future of biofuels as the industry moves aggressively towards decarbonization,” said Rich Riley, co-chief executive of Origin Materials.

Over the long-term, we see the potential for biomass-derived, low-carbon-intensity fuels to be used in marine and other transportation fuels, industrial applications, heat and power generation, and more,” he added.
