FueLNG’s vessel Bellina has carried out the first simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) bunkering in Southeast Asia, reports Offshore Energy.
SIMOPS LNG bunkering
In particular, FueLNG Private Limited, NYK Line, and Shell carried out Southeast Asia’s first SIMOPS LNG bunkering for car carriers, to NYK’s Jasmine Leader at the PSA Asia Automobile Terminal Singapore on 16 August 2023. SIMOPS involve bunkering together with cargo handling, ensure a seamless and efficient port call for the Jasmine Leader.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the teams at PSA Singapore and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). Your guidance, support, and expertise have paved the way for this milestone,” stated FueLNG in a LinkedIn post.
Meanwhile, NYK and TB Global Technologies Ltd. (TBG) yesterday signed a basic agreement to jointly develop Japan’s first bunkering boom for ammonia, a device used to supply ammonia fuel between ships.
Shell also shows commitment to alternative fuels as it recently alsdo deployed a third vessel in the Americas to be part of their fleet of 12 LNG bunkering vessels. In total, Shell has completed more than 1000 LNG bunkering operations.
