Ocean Network Express (ONE) has achieved a historic milestone by setting a new world record for container ship cargo in the bustling Port of Singapore. The colossal vessel, ONE Integrity, with a nominal capacity of 24,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units), soared beyond expectations by loading an impressive 21,954 TEU, surpassing the previous record set by Evergreen’s Ever Ace, which carried 21,710 TEU in August 2021.
Remarkable Feat
The world’s largest container ships boast a nominal carrying capacity of 24,000 TEU, but various factors like cargo weight and vessel stability often limit the actual number of loaded containers they can accommodate. This remarkable feat propelled ONE Integrity into the top position, nudging the Evergreen vessel into second place. Previously, the CMA CGM Jacques Saadé held third and fourth places, having achieved 21,433 TEU in April 2021 and 20,723 TEU in October 2020.
The ONE Integrity, a colossal vessel measuring 399 meters in length, 61 meters in width, and with a draught of 16.5 meters, was launched at sea and handed over to its operator in 2023, solidifying its position as a titan in the maritime industry.
