Cargo Details and Departure Point

Loaded with 3,000 twenty-foot-equivalent unit (TEU) containers carrying items such as bananas and white prawns, the vessel set sail from the Guayaquil port in Ecuador on Dec. 28.

Efficient Route to South America

This route establishes a connection between the Dalian port and various ports in Colombia and Ecuador, as well as other significant ports along the west coast of South America. The entire journey now takes a mere 25 days, presenting a time-saving advantage of at least seven days compared to the previous transportation method via transit shipment service.

Impact on Cold Chain Goods

The expedited shipping process is anticipated to facilitate the swift entry of cold chain goods, including seafood and fruits, from South America into the northeast China market.

Operated weekly by WAN HAI LINES Ltd., a Taiwan-based company, the service utilizes six 3,000-TEU container ships.

Dalian Port’s Global Connectivity

Li Xiaoguang, the general manager of Dalian Container Terminal Co., Ltd. of Liaoning Port Group, which oversees Dalian port, highlighted that the port currently boasts 105 container ship routes, connecting to more than 300 ports in over 160 countries and regions worldwide.
