- CMA CGM has announced a new peak season surcharge (PSS) globally.
- The new surcharge will be effective from 15 February 2024.
Marseille-headquartered container line CMA CGM has announced a new peak season surcharge (PSS) from North Europe, the Baltic, Scandinavia and Poland to Asia (including South East Asia, North East Asia, China, Hong Kong & Macau SAR), Middle East, Red Sea, India subcontinent, East Med and North Africa (Morocco included), reports Container News.
The new surcharge will be effective from 15 February 2024 (date of loading) until further notice and will be US$300 per reefer container.
New peak season surcharges
Additionally, another surcharge will be implemented by CMA CGM from Adriatic & West Med countries to Asia (including South East Asia, North East Asia, China, Hong Kong & Macau SAR), Middle East, Red Sea, India subcontinent, East Med and North Africa (Morocco included). This new surcharge will be effective from 15 February 2024 (date of loading) until further notice and will be US$200 per reefer container.
Furthermore, an additional surcharge is set to be imposed from North Europe (excluding Portugal & Spain), the UK, Scandinavia, Poland, Baltic States, and Ireland to the whole Mediterranean area, Adriatic, Black Sea region and North Africa (excluding Morocco).
The third surcharge will be effective from 15 February 2024 (date of loading) until further notice and will be US$108 (EUR 100 per unit / GBP 100 per unit (for UK)) per Dry container.
Also, CMA CGM will implement an extra surcharge on shipments from Turkey to all West African ports. This surcharge will be applicable from 1 February 2024 (loading date) until further notice, with a fee of US$100 per Dry, Reefer & OOG container.
