The Clydebank Declaration, introduced at COP26, laid the groundwork for creating carbon-free maritime routes globally by 2025. Building upon this momentum, the US launched the Green Shipping Corridor Framework in February 2022, setting ambitious targets to achieve zero emissions in maritime transportation by 2050.
South Korea’s Commitment: Driving Environmental Progress
South Korea, demonstrating a strong commitment to eco-friendly maritime routes, presented plans for its involvement in a global framework at the G20 Summit in September 2023.
