GLBP, a joint venture between Seapath Group and Pilot LNG, has joined SEA-LNG, a coalition promoting LNG’s benefits for maritime use, reports Gas world.

Facility Development

GLBP plans to develop, construct, and operate the first dedicated LNG fuelling facility on the US Gulf Coast, situated at Shoal Point in Texas City, expected to be operational by 2026.

CEO Statement

Jonathan Cook, CEO of Pilot LNG, highlights GLBP’s access to SEA-LNG’s insights and expertise, enhancing development efforts. Initial investment stands at approximately $180m for this crucial LNG bunkering facility.

Fuel Variety

The LNG bunkering infrastructure will provide LNG, carbon-neutral bio-LNG, and e-LNG, catering to existing LNG-fuelled vessels and supporting Net Zero shipping goals.

Pathway to Net Zero Shipping

Both GLBP and SEA-LNG affirm LNG as a practical pathway to achieving Net Zero shipping, emphasizing its global availability and compatibility with bio-LNG and e-LNG development.
