Wallenius Wilhelmsen reinforces its commitment to sustainability by declaring options for four additional next-generation Shaper Class pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) vessels.
The vessels, with a capacity of 9,300 CEU, will be methanol dual fuel, ensuring flexibility in fuel sources, with the ability to transition to ammonia upon its safe availability, reports Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

These vessels are integral to Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s ambitious plan to achieve net zero emissions end-to-end service by 2027.

The decision to expand the fleet aligns with the collaborative efforts between Wallenius Wilhelmsen and its customers to drive sustainable practices within the industry.
Expansion Plans
The additional four vessels bring the total number of Shaper Class vessels on order with Jinling Shipyard to eight, with the company retaining further options for future expansion.
Delivery of the first Shaper Class vessels is anticipated in the second half of 2026, while the newly declared options will be delivered between May and November 2027.
