Chinese shipbuilder Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) has clinched a significant deal for four mid-sized LPG/ammonia carriers.

The order comes from an undisclosed European shipowner, signaling confidence in CIMC SOE’s capabilities, reports Engine.

Vessel Specifications

These dual-fuel vessels boast versatility, with the ability to operate on both LPG and traditional marine fuels. Each carrier, with a capacity of 40,000 cubic meters, will be equipped to transport not only LPG but also ammonia and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM).

Buyer Identity

Although CIMC SOE has chosen not to reveal specifics about the European buyer, the order underscores the growing interest in environmentally conscious shipping solutions.

Delivery Schedule

Anticipated to be completed by 2028, the vessels’ delivery timeline aligns with the evolving demands of the maritime industry and reflects CIMC SOE’s commitment to timely execution.

Previous Contracts

This order follows CIMC SOE’s successful collaboration with Norwegian gas company Avance Gas, which exercised an option for two additional dual-fuel mid-sized gas carriers last year.

This expansion reaffirms CIMC SOE’s position as a trusted partner in delivering cutting-edge maritime solutions.
