Taiwan-based container carrier Wan Hai Lines held naming ceremonies for its two new container ships, Wan Hai 372 and Wan Hai 376. These vessels are part of the series of 3,055 TEU boxships built by Japan Marine United Corporation ARIAKE Shipyard.
Celebrations and Participants
TSENG LING-LIN, spouse of Steve Chang, Executive Vice President Commercial Department of Oriental Petrochemical (Taiwan) Co., Ltd., and YINGYING CHENG, spouse of AKITATSU SUZUKI, President of UNEI SHOJI CO., LTD., christened the vessels during the ceremony.
Focus on Eco-Friendly and Smart Shipping
Wan Hai 372 and Wan Hai 376 are the 8th and 11th vessels in a series of twelve ordered by Wan Hai Lines from Japan Marine United Corporation. The vessels use LSFO (Low Sulfur Fuel Oil) and are equipped with new energy-saving technologies, contributing to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Moreover, the ships have earned “Smart Ship” notations, demonstrating advanced features and operational efficiency.
Commitment to Quality Shipping
These new vessels highlight Wan Hai Lines’ ongoing efforts to upgrade its fleet and pursue quality and eco-friendly shipping services. In addition to the naming ceremonies, Wan Hai also donated necessities to a charity organization in Japan, Yudehikaridoen, reflecting the company’s commitment to social responsibility.
