Greek shipping company Horizon Tankers has placed an order with Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard in China for up to six new tankers, signalling continued growth and investment in their fleet.
Details of the Newbuild Order
The order includes four firm newbuildings and options for two additional vessels. These tankers, independently developed by SDARI, will be 182.75 meters long and 32.2 meters wide, equipped with MAN engines that comply with the latest emission regulations. Delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2026 and 2027. Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard, already handling orders for ten plus two MR tankers and sixteen LR2 tankers, aims to strengthen its presence in the mid-size tanker market with this new order.
