HD KSOE Secures Contract for Two Petrochemical Product Carriers, Enhances Position in Shipbuilding Industry

South Korea’s HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE) recently announced a significant contract with a European shipping company for the construction of two petrochemical product carriers (PC ships).

Contract Details

The total order amount for the two PC ships stands at 137.2 billion won ($100.4 million). These vessels will be built at HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding and are expected to be delivered by December 2027.

Company Achievement

This latest contract adds to HD KSOE’s impressive portfolio, bringing the total tally to 110 vessels (including one offshore facility) valued at $12 billion. This achievement represents 88.9% of the company’s annual order target of $13.5 billion.

Diversified Order Book

HD KSOE’s success extends across various ship types, with orders including 8 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 46 PC ships, 36 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, 1 ethane carrier, 2 liquefied carbon dioxide carriers, 6 very large crude carriers (VLCCs), 3 tankers, 2 pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs), 1 floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), 1 offshore facility, and 4 special ships.
