HD Korea Shipbuilding Secures Contracts Worth $357.2 Million For Vessel Construction

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., a major South Korean shipyard, recently announced securing contracts worth 492.5 billion won ($357.2 million) to build vessels for Middle Eastern and Australian clients.

Contract Details

Middle East Contracts: Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., a subsidiary, will construct two very large gas carriers for delivery to a Middle Eastern shipping company by June 2027.
Australian Contracts: Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. will build two product carriers for an Australian shipper, expected to be delivered by March 2027.

Business Overview

HD Korea Shipbuilding, part of the conglomerate HD Hyundai, oversees three domestic units: Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. They have achieved 95.9% of their $13.5 billion annual target with orders for 122 vessels this year.
