Cruise Ship Berths at New Facility

The Port of Leith has achieved a significant milestone with the successful berthing of the Carnival Legend cruise ship at its new deep-water facility. The 293-meter vessel, capable of carrying over 3,000 passengers and crew, was the first to utilize the new berth.

A New Era for Leith Port

Designed to accommodate the world’s largest offshore renewable support vessels, the berth is a crucial component of Leith’s transformation into a major renewable energy hub. The facility, with its 100-ton per square meter heavy lift capacity and 175 acres of land, will be fully operational next month.

Economic and Environmental Benefits

The successful trial demonstrates the port’s readiness to support the growing offshore renewables industry. This development is expected to create thousands of green jobs and contribute significantly to Scotland’s net zero carbon emissions targets.
