Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has achieved a significant milestone by handling a record-breaking 603,219 TEUs in July 2024, surpassing the previous record set in March of the same year. This remarkable achievement underscores JNPA’s pivotal role in India’s maritime trade.
Strong Overall Cargo Performance
The port’s overall cargo performance was equally impressive, with a total of 7.54 million tonnes handled in July, reflecting a robust 9.09% year-on-year growth. This growth trajectory reinforces JNPA’s position as a key driver of India’s economic development.
Growth in Rail and Barge Movements
In addition to container traffic, JNPA witnessed substantial growth in rail and barge movements. The port handled 530 container rakes and 84,494 TEUs in July 2024, a significant increase compared to the previous year.
Strong Cumulative Performance
From April to July 2024, JNPA handled 2.29 million TEUs and 29.53 million tonnes of total cargo, representing year-on-year growth of 5.82% and 12.07%, respectively. This exceptional performance highlights JNPA’s operational efficiency and its commitment to providing world-class port services.
