QatarEnergy Expands LNG Fleet With New Order For Six Advanced QC-Max Vessels

QatarEnergy has signed an agreement with China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) for the construction of six additional QC-Max LNG vessels, bringing the total number of LNG vessels ordered under its fleet expansion program to 128, including 24 QC-Max mega vessels. The new vessels, which will be built at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard, a CSSC subsidiary, are set for delivery between 2028 and 2031, reports Qatar Energy.

Expansion of QatarEnergy’s LNG Fleet

The agreement to construct six QC-Max vessels highlights QatarEnergy’s ongoing commitment to its LNG fleet expansion program, which aims to meet rising global LNG demand. These vessels, each with a capacity of 271,000 cubic meters, are the largest LNG carriers ever built and reflect QatarEnergy’s strategic focus on enhancing its operational capabilities.
