The naming ceremony for the new LNG-fueled Car Carrier “CELESTE ACE” was held at the dockyard of SHIN KURUSHIMA DOCKYARD, in Ehime, Japan, reports MOL.

Reduced Emissions

This is the 6th LNG-fueled Car Carrier under MOL’s operation out of total 14 whose deliveries have already been fixed. LNG can reduce 25% to 30% of CO2 emissions compared to conventional fuel oil, and we are planning to deliver 90 LNG/Methanol-fueled vessels by 2030.

During the ceremony, a special guest Mr. Makoto Uchida, CEO of Nissan Motor Corporation, was present along with MOL’s CEO Takeshi Hashimoto who exchanged some mementos with each other to celebrate the vessel’s naming and to wish her a safe voyage.
