MSC Group establishes a new container terminal at Denmark’s largest commercial port. It is now clear who will be using the new area when the Omniterminal is completed. TiL will establish a new container terminal at the site, reports Aarhus Havn.

Agreement

Port of Aarhus has just signed an agreement with the global container shipping company Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) for the lease of land at the port in Aarhus, where the company will establish a new container terminal.

Terminal Investment Limited (TiL), MSC Group’s container terminal operator, will move into the Omniterminal, which is currently being finalized.

“Port of Aarhus offers a good location for the future network plans we have made. We will be introducing a direct mainliner between Asia and Aarhus next year and in combination with our own terminal we can provide our customers with a practical logistics solution. In the longer term, we are looking at other routes that could have a positive impact on Danish business and we will consider further investment when new areas are developed at the port of Aarhus”, says CEO of MSC Søren Toft.

With this agreement, Denmark’s two largest container terminals will be located at the port in Aarhus.
