Hengli Heavy Industry has delivered its first independently-manufactured engine, the 6G50ME-C9.6-HPSCR (HE0001). The engine stands 11 meters tall, weighs 250 tons, and complies with IMO Tier III environmental standards, reports Seatrade Maritime.
License from MAN Energy Solutions
The engine will be installed on an 82,000 dwt bulk carrier constructed by Hengli Heavy Industry, marking the company’s foray into advanced engine production.
In 2023, Hengli Engine, a subsidiary of Hengli Heavy Industry, obtained a license from MAN Energy Solutions to manufacture low-speed engines and quality management certification from CCS.
Expanding Production Capacity
Since acquiring the license, Hengli has received more than 140 engine orders, signifying strong demand in the market.
Hengli is expanding its industrial park to increase production capacity, aiming to manufacture 180 engines annually. This includes dual-fuel engines that run on LNG, LPG, methanol, and ammonia.
