Effective April 1, 2025, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) will merge its subsidiaries MOL Marine & Engineering Co., Ltd., MOL Ocean Expert Co., Ltd., and MOL Ship Tech Inc., creating a consolidated technical hub aimed at advancing decarbonization efforts in the maritime sector.
Enhanced Services and Digital Integration
The new entity will deliver services spanning shipbuilding consulting, maritime human resource training, operational support, and maintenance. It will incorporate digital technology to bolster MOL’s growth sectors, including wind power generation.
Streamlined Merger Process
This absorption merger, with MOL Marine & Engineering as the surviving entity, involves no new shares or financial exchanges since all subsidiaries are wholly owned by the MOL Group. The official name of the new company will be announced in March 2025.
