GTT announced today 16 October 2024, in Paris that it has received an order from its partner, the Korean shipyard HD Hyundai Samho to design tanks for two new Ultra Large Ethane Carriers on behalf of ship-owner Eastern Pacific Shipping, reports GTT.

Tank Design and Capacity

For the two vessels in question, tanks will be designed by GTT for both of them with a capacity of 150,000 m³. Also, these will be equipped with GTT’s Mark III membrane containment system that will provide a highly advanced solution specially designed to safely allow the transportation of liquefied gases.

Containment System Flexibility

The Mark III membrane containment system is designed to move a broad range of liquefied gases. This is done on behalf of the petrochemical industry, such as liquefied natural gas. Such a design will offer great flexibility in use during the entire period of the vessel’s operation so that it can carry any kind of cargo.
