Jiangxi New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Haihong Shipping Co., Ltd. finalized a contract for building a 7,000 m³ LEG (ethylene) carrier in Ruichang City. This agreement marks New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding’s entry into high-end gas carrier construction, advancing its strategic focus on producing high-quality vessels.

About Shenzhen Haihong Shipping Co., Ltd.

Founded in 2006, Shenzhen Haihong Shipping specializes in domestic coastal liquid cargo transportation. Its operations span:

  • Liquefied gas carrier transport across the domestic coastal areas and the Yangtze River,
  • Domestic and international vessel agency services for dangerous goods,
  • Inland freight services.

Project Highlights

The vessel for Shenzhen Haihong Shipping is a 7,000 m³ semi-cooled, semi-pressurized LEG carrier—the first domestically designed and manufactured of its kind. Designed by MARIC, the vessel includes:

  • Dual C-type tanks (3500 m³ each) for flexible cargo capacity,
  • Two goods transport options, enabling simultaneous loading of two types of goods or a single type,
  • A VS-BOW design (invisible bulbous bow) with an energy-saving CAPRO post-paddle device,
  • Specifications in line with the China Classification Society standards,
  • Capacity for unrestricted international navigation with a 6200-ton load limit.

Since restructuring from Jiangzhou Joint Shipbuilding, New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding has focused on specialized vessel production. Moving forward, the company will adhere to its “9610” manufacturing strategy, aligned with the three-year plan to double output. New Jiangzhou aims to establish Ruichang as an advanced ship manufacturing hub for high-end ships and offshore engineering products, delivering quality marine products to a global customer base.
