IBIA Launches European Regional Board To Advance Sustainable Marine Fuels

The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has officially launched its European Regional Board, completing its global strategy of establishing five regional boards. The formation of this board represents a significant step in IBIA’s mission to promote a fair and sustainable marine fuel landscape, and it will play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and addressing key regional challenges within the European bunker and shipping industries.

Leadership and Board Members

The European Regional Board will be chaired by Charlotte Rojgaard, the Global Marine Fuels Director at Bureau Veritas Verifuel. She will be joined by a team of influential industry leaders, including:

  • John Stirling, Director of Marine Technical at World Fuel Services
  • Kenneth Juhls, Managing Director at ZeroNorth Bunker
  • Andrea Realfonzo, from Grimaldi Group’s Corporate Bunker & Chartering Department
  • Sofia Furstenberg Stott, Partner at Furstenberg Maritime Advisory
  • Peter Grunwaldt, Vice President at Hafnia
  • Jan Christensen, Senior Director of Fuels, Lubricants & Chemicals at Hapag-Lloyd AG
  • Capt John Ghio, CEO & Captain of the Port, Gibraltar

Charlotte Rojgaard expressed her excitement and vision for the newly established board:
