According to GTT, a leading expert in tank containment technology, the company has recently received an order from a Korean shipyard to design storage tanks for a new Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). This project is being developed for an Asian shipowner, marking another strategic order for GTT in the LNG and regasification sector.

Project Specifications and Tank Design

The FSRU will have a total storage capacity of 204,000 m³. GTT will equip the unit’s tanks with its advanced NO96 GW containment system, a technology specifically designed to optimize storage and regasification capabilities. This containment system is noted for its safety and efficiency, making it suitable for the operational demands of large-scale LNG storage and regasification units.

Delivery Timeline

The delivery of this FSRU is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027. This timeline aligns with growing demand for LNG infrastructure in the Asian market, where floating storage and regasification units play a crucial role in regional energy security and supply chain resilience.

Strategic Importance of the FSRU Order

This order reinforces GTT’s leadership in high-capacity LNG containment solutions and highlights its partnership with prominent shipyards and shipowners. As LNG demand continues to rise, especially in Asia, GTT’s specialized containment technology positions it as a key player in the FSRU market.
