  • Telemar Partners with Sealution to Boost Data Collection for Vessel Operators.
  • Telemar and Sealution Team Up for Advanced Shipboard Data Connectivity.
  • Sealutions Connectivity System Expands Telemar’s Smart Maintenance Solutions.

Telemar, a company specialising in smart maintenance and remote access technology, signed a partnership agreement with Sealution aimed at bringing plug-and-play data collection capabilities to vessel operators, which would ensure strongly enhanced onboard data connectivity and integration, reports Marlink.

Sealutions Connectivity System

Sealutions Connectivity System utilizes the existing cabling onboard in detection and alarm for fire systems in ships, using an onboard gateway to aggregate and transmit data. This technology ensures more resilient onboard networks and enables the collection of detailed data from numerous equipment and IoT devices. It then shares this with the operators so that they can gather every bit of insight about their operations.

Telemars Installation and Maintenance Role

Telemar will own the installation, servicing, and aftercare of the Type Approved data collection solution developed by Sealution, according to the newly concluded agreement. As a company with storied experience in data collection and the remote diagnostics of bridge navigation technology, Telemar stands in an excellent position to enlarge that towards propulsion systems and other critical ship components, thereby enlightening maintenance and troubleshooting processes.

Expanding Digitalisation in the Maritime Industry

Telemar is a specialist in smart maintenance of bridge electronics, and proactive remote and onsite support is provided to minimize downtime on vessels and manage risks correctly. Advanced facilities for remote access with maximum diagnostic capability ensure the Telemarengineers can quickly diagnose and correct performance issues in the first attempt, avoiding the requirement to wait until the vessel reaches the next port call.

Supporting the Digital Transformation in Maritime

Sebastian Hamers, CEO & Co-Founder of Sealution, highlighted the importance of this partnership: The maritime industry is witnessing a significant transformation in the way ships navigate, driven by rapid advances in digitalisation and automation. Our partnership with Telemar will support this transformation by enabling more vendors and vessel operators across the globe to benefit from uninterrupted data collection and optimised analysis.”

A Strategic Partnership to Simplify Data Collection

Telemar CEO Mike Bauwens noted that this collaboration aligns with Telemar’s broader mission to simplify data access for vessel operators, supporting their efforts to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance. “This agreement extends the range of possibilities that Telemar can offer to our clients, simplifying data collection and creating a more integrated approach to digitalisation. Our partnership strategy is designed to support owners in accessing the data they need to operate at higher efficiency and in compliance.”
