- Auramarine will deliver Diesel Fuel Oil (DFO) and Liquid Biofuel (LBO) supply systems for two Meriaura cargo ships under construction at Royal Bodewes shipyard.
- The systems, tailored for biofuel compatibility, will enhance fuel management, safety, and operational efficiency.
- The 105-meter-long Ecotrader vessels are designed to reduce emissions and can operate on biofuel made from recycled raw materials.
- Meriaura aims to achieve carbon neutrality within the 2030s through biofuel innovation and sustainable technology.
As reported by Auramarine, the company, a leader in fuel supply systems for the marine, power, and process industries, will deliver advanced Diesel Fuel Oil (DFO) and Liquid Biofuel (LBO) supply systems to Finnish shipping company Meriaura. *The systems will be installed on two cargo ships, designated as BN832 and BN833, being constructed by the Dutch shipyard Royal Bodewes.
Enhancing Efficiency and Safety
Manufactured at Auramarine’s Shanghai facility, the fuel supply systems will ensure the precise delivery of fuel oil to the engines while maintaining optimal temperature and viscosity. Deliveries are scheduled for May 2025 and March 2026, supporting enhanced operational reliability, performance, and safety onboard.
Eco-Friendly Vessel Design
The Ecotrader ships, 105 meters long with a 1A ice class and a capacity of 6750 DWT, represent a new standard in eco-efficiency. With a 30% increase in size compared to Meriaura’s EcoCoaster vessels, these ships are designed to reduce emissions and improve economic efficiency. Operable on biofuel produced by VG-EcoFuel, Meriaura’s subsidiary, the ships offer greater flexibility in fuel options while minimizing environmental impact.
Optimized for Biofuel Operations
Auramarine’s fuel systems are specifically designed to handle biofuels, ensuring smooth operations by managing fuel temperature and viscosity. This capability minimizes the risk of engine damage, unplanned downtime, and safety issues, thereby safeguarding the vessels’ operational health.
