Singapore-based Ocean Network Express (ONE) has finalized the acquisition of a minority stake in New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1) in Jakarta, Indonesia. This strategic investment reinforces ONE’s foothold in Southeast Asia, furthering its ambitions to enhance global supply chain efficiency and reliability, reports ONE.
NPCT1: A Strategic Asset in Southeast Asia
Built-in 2016, NPCT1 is a state-of-the-art terminal with an annual capacity of 1.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU). The terminal is equipped with deep drafts and modern facilities to accommodate advanced mega containerships.
Positioned in Jakarta, ONE’s third-largest volume port in Southeast Asia, NPCT1 plays a pivotal role in the region’s logistics network.
Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE’s Product & Network Division, described NPCT1 as a “green and efficient terminal” strategically located in a rapidly growing market. “A stake in this terminal ensures access to capacity in a key gateway and supports our growth ambitions,” he added, emphasizing the terminal’s critical role in ONE’s operations.

This acquisition is a significant step in ONE’s long-term strategy to expand its terminal portfolio and secure capacity in critical markets.
