TFG Marine, a global marine fuel supply and procurement joint venture between Trafigura Group, Frontline, and Golden Ocean, announced on December 2 that it has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Spanish bunkering company Vilma Oil Med, reports Manifold Times.
Strategic Location and Services of Vilma Oil Med
Vilma Oil Med is situated in the Strait of Gibraltar, one of the world’s busiest sea routes. It delivers West Mediterranean bunkering services with an 84,000 cbm storage facility and a mass flow meter-equipped bunkering barge capable of delivering to more than 1,500 vessels a year, both inside and outside the port.

This collaboration, according to TFG Marine, will bring together the best brains to enhance reliability, efficiency, and innovation in European customers’ marine fuel services.
West Mediterranean Expansion
Kenneth Dam, the Global Head of Bunkering at TFG Marine, noted that the acquisition enables TFG Marine to offer a full range of high-quality bunker fuels in the West Mediterranean Sea, which has been the company’s long-term ambition.
